Data definitions on Applications and their metrics structure is maintained in Remote Analyst ( ).  It gives users the ability to create YAML like metric definitions for one or more Applications.  As Application are updated and new versions are available, likewise new and different metrics definitions may be defined for each version.

WVP Enterprise users do not require a Remote Analyst license to access the definitions on its Shop.  A Web ViewPoint E customer does require to be added as a “merchant” on Remote Analyst, if they want to add their own Application metric definitions.  To start this process, an email request can be sent to .

On Web ViewPoint Enterprise, you may find a link to Shop, under Admin.XView.

There are two simple steps:

  1. Download Profiles: Click on the icon on the upper right side of the screen. This will download (to your browser memory only.  Will be erased when you close your browser) a list of available definitions which you are authorized to see. Publication Date/Time of each Application.Version is noted.  This is the Date/Time the “Merchant” (term used in Remote Analyst) made this definition available to its user community.  Note that this could be you and may choose to make a definition known only to yourself.
  2. Install: XView Automatically knows definitions for which Application.version is installed on your NonStop Server (noted on the list box on the upper left). Installation Date/time for previously installed definitions is noted.  Otherwise, you may simply click on the “Install” button to copy the definitions from for this Application.Version to the WVP Enterprise database of the displayed NonStop Server.
